This Privacy Policy describes how NextPixel Apps LLP ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and manages your information when you use the JewelValue mobile application (also branded in-app as JewelAI; the "Application"). By using the Application, you agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service.
Certain features require you to provide photos, text, or other content for AI-powered processing. We explain those features and your choices below.
App Store Privacy Summary
This summary reflects how we describe our data practices on the Apple App Store.
Data linked to your identity:
- User Content — jewelry photos you scan, personal photos you use for virtual try-on, and messages you send in AI Jeweler chat.
Data collected but not linked to your identity:
- Purchases — subscription and in-app purchase information processed by Apple and RevenueCat.
- Identifiers — anonymous app and subscription identifiers (such as a RevenueCat user ID).
- Diagnostics — crash, performance, and usage diagnostic data to improve app reliability.
We do not use your data for cross-app advertising tracking.
I. Data Collection and Use
A. Information You Provide
We may collect and store the following information you make available to us:
- Jewelry photos you capture or select for identification, appraisal, and educational valuation estimates.
- Personal photos you provide for the virtual try-on feature (combined with jewelry reference images to generate a preview).
- Chat messages and appraisal context you submit to the AI Jeweler feature (including questions about a scanned piece and related appraisal details).
- Jewel Box and History content you choose to save on your device (saved scans, try-on results, and collection items).
- Information you provide when you contact us for support (such as your email address and message content).
- Account or subscription information managed via Apple In-App Purchase and RevenueCat (e.g., subscription status, product identifiers, and transaction metadata — we do not receive or store your full payment card details).
B. Information Collected Automatically
The Application and our service providers may collect and store additional information automatically, such as:
- Device type, operating system version, app version, and language preference.
- Anonymous app instance or subscription identifiers (including RevenueCat user IDs).
- Diagnostic, crash, and performance data.
- Information about how you use the Application (e.g., features accessed and session activity).
- Approximate location derived from your IP address when you connect to our backend services.
- Push notification tokens, if you opt in to notifications.
Most scan history, Jewel Box items, and preferences are stored locally on your device unless you use a feature that sends data to our servers or third-party AI providers.
C. How We Use This Information
We and our service providers may use this information to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Application.
- Process jewelry photos and return identification, appraisal, and educational valuation estimates.
- Generate virtual try-on previews from your photos and jewelry references.
- Power the AI Jeweler chat feature and respond to your jewelry-related questions.
- Manage subscriptions, restore purchases, and provide customer support.
- Send important service notices and, where permitted, product updates.
- Analyze usage trends, diagnose errors, and improve our products and services.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Educational estimates only: Appraisals and value estimates are for informational purposes and are not a substitute for a certified professional appraisal.
II. Use of Third-Party AI Services (Important)
The Application's core AI features are powered by third-party Artificial Intelligence ("AI") services. When you use scan, try-on, or AI Jeweler features, relevant content may be transmitted to:
Google Gemini (Google LLC)
- Jewelry photos; your photo and jewelry images for try-on; appraisal details and chat messages for AI Jeweler.
- Purpose: Identify jewelry, estimate value, virtual try-on, and chat responses.
OpenAI / ChatGPT (OpenAI, L.L.C.)
- Jewelry photos; appraisal details and chat messages for AI Jeweler.
- Purpose: Identify jewelry, estimate value, and chat responses.
What we send
- Jewelry scanning: The photo you submit (typically as a compressed JPEG) and your selected currency preference.
- Virtual try-on: Your photo, jewelry reference image (or URL), jewelry name/type, and placement instructions.
- AI Jeweler: Your chat messages and structured appraisal context from the scanned piece.
- Requests are routed through our backend (Cloudflare Workers), which forwards content to the selected AI provider and returns the result to you.
We do not intentionally send your name, email address, Apple ID, contacts, or precise GPS location to these AI providers with your content. Do not submit photos or messages containing sensitive personal information you do not wish to be processed by a third-party AI service.
Your explicit consent
In compliance with Apple App Store Review Guideline 5.1.2(i), the Application requests your explicit consent before transmitting photos or related content to a third-party AI provider for the first time. You may withdraw consent at any time from the Application's Privacy / AI Consent settings; AI-powered features that require third-party processing will then be disabled.
How AI providers use your data
- OpenAI: Does not use API-submitted data to train its models by default. See: openai.com/policies/privacy-policy
- Google Gemini API: Does not use API-submitted data to improve its models for standard/paid API usage under applicable terms. See: ai.google.dev/gemini-api/terms and policies.google.com/privacy
We encourage you to review these providers' privacy policies before using AI-powered features.
III. Analytics and Diagnostics
The Application is not supported by third-party advertising. We do not sell your personal information.
We may use analytics, crash reporting, and diagnostic tools (including our IndieHQ platform and related backend services, where enabled) to understand how the Application is used, improve reliability, and respond to support requests. These tools may collect device type, app version, feature usage, error logs, and anonymous or pseudonymous identifiers. This data is treated as not linked to your identity on the App Store.
You can review your device's privacy settings (including notification permissions) to control optional data sharing.
IV. Third-Party Services
The Application may use or link to third-party services that are not owned or controlled by NextPixel Apps LLP, including Apple, RevenueCat, Cloudflare, Google, and OpenAI. We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of third-party sites or services. Your use of those services is subject to their respective policies.
V. Children
We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). If a parent or guardian becomes aware that their child has provided us with information without consent, please contact us at contact@nextpixelapps.in and we will take steps to delete such information.
VI. Sharing Information
We may share information:
- With third-party AI providers (Google Gemini and OpenAI), with your explicit consent, solely to provide AI-powered features.
- With service providers who work on our behalf, such as Cloudflare (backend infrastructure), RevenueCat (subscription management), and IndieHQ (analytics, diagnostics, and in-app support, where enabled).
- When we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety, investigate fraud, or respond to a lawful request.
- If NextPixel Apps LLP or the Application is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their independent marketing purposes.
VII. Managing Your Information
On your device
Scan history, Jewel Box collections, and many preferences are stored on your device. You can delete individual items from History or Jewel Box, or use Settings → Delete All Data to remove all locally stored scans, try-ons, and Jewel Box items.
Retention
We retain server-side information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Application, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Server-side logs and diagnostic data may be disposed of on a rolling basis. Keep your own backups of content you wish to preserve.
International transfers
Your information may be transferred to, processed, and stored in jurisdictions including the United States, India, and regions where our backend and AI providers operate. By using the Application, you consent to such transfer and processing.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect information we process. No security system can prevent all potential breaches.
Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your personal information.
- Withdraw your consent to AI processing (which disables AI features that require third-party processing).
- Opt out of marketing communications.
- Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
